圣诞节，可见唐《大秦景教流行中国碑颂》，其云「室女诞圣于大秦」，即斯之谓也。 于台湾，或以耶稣非中华固圣，乃多名曰「圣诞节」。 泰西诸国，奉基督教者众，时又近新年，因以为假，延至元旦方止，仿佛中华之春节。 廿四日夜，谓曰「平安夜」，亲友间当互赠礼物，至亲亦然。 更教俗谓当夜有圣诞老人，驾雪橇，以驯鹿曳之，遍巡天下，望门循烟囱而入，赠物以飨孩童，故稚子皆于当夜悬长筒袜以期之。 [Wikipedia]
